Alongside the action of the competition, join us for a range of events designed to engage our community of violin lovers and classical music enthusiasts!

SIVC outreach events are free of charge to attend and open to the public.

All events take place at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music.

Experience fine violins from the Rin Collection up close!

Owned by the late Mr Rin Kei Mei and Mrs Rin, the Rin Collection comprises some of the world’s most valuable stringed instruments from great makers such as Stradivari, Guarneri and Amati. One of the Rin Collection’s key missions is to help young musicians perfect their art using the best possible instruments – not least through loans to SIVC top performers as well as to students of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music.

The Singapore International Violin Competition 2026 Outreach Masterclass is open to all participants between the ages of 6 and 25. Applicants should submit a video recording of one concerto movement or a 4-7 minute piece. 

Submission deadline: 26 January 2026

Selected participants will be notified on 28 January 2026.

Lee Kangho Cello Masterclass
7:30pm, YST Recital Studio
Free, no registration required

Cellist Kangho Lee conducts a masterclass, working with YST students to refine their musical performance. The session is open to the public to attend and observe, offering the opportunity to experience the professional expertise of veteran artists as well as the learning process of young musicians up close.

Praised for his “technical perfection and lyrical depth” (The Korea Herald), Kangho Lee is one of Korea’s most distinguished cellists, celebrated as a soloist, chamber musician, and educator. As Dean and Professor of Cello at Korea National University of the Arts, Lee has mentored prizewinning students at top competitions, including the Tchaikovsky, Geneva, Paulo, Isang Yun, and Enescu.
