Naoko Tajima



Naoko Tajima was born in Tokyo, Japan. She entered The Juilliard School Pre-College division in 2005, where she studied with Dr. Ann Setzer and Professor Marina Keselman at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. She has been heard as a soloist and chamber musician in concert venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Miller Theater at Columbia University, Japan Society. She has attended Meadowmount School of Music as a full scholarship student. She was invited to perform a solo recital at the Bargemusic in New York and holds annual recitals in Japan. She was the winner of the Juilliard School Concerto Competition and performed with the Juilliard Orchestra in 2010. She received the Commencement Award from The Juilliard School Pre-College Division for her superior ability in the areas of violin performance, orchestra, chamber music, and academic subjects. Tajima won first prize in international competitions such as New York International Music Competition, LISMA International Music Competition, Sound Symphony Competition. In 2017, she was the top three finalists of the Medallion International Artists Competition and was selected for competitions such as Internationaler Musikwettbewerb der ARD. Tajima currently studies at The Juilliard School as a full scholarship student under Professor Donald Weilerstein and Li Lin.
